Things to Do in a Power Cut

Things to Do in a Power Cut

No TV, no Wi-Fi, no games console. A power cut can actually be a nice excuse to slow down. Here are some ideas.

With the family

  • Board games and card games by torchlight.
  • Torch shadow puppets on the wall.
  • Tell stories or play “I spy”.
  • Build a blanket den in the warmest room.

On your own

  • Read a book with a head torch.
  • Listen to the radio. A wind-up radio works without power or batteries.
  • Write a letter, journal or to-do list.
  • Have an early night.

Stay comfortable

Keep everyone together in one room, wrapped up in layers, with a flask of hot chocolate.
